This popular, family-run countryside retreat specialises in riding holidays for all abilities. Situated in the North of Germany,
an hour’ drive from Hamburg, the centre nestles in the heart of the famous Lüneburger Heath surrounded by one of the country´s
most beautiful forests. Wildboar and deer are daily sights and eagles soar in this land which once served as Kaiser Wilhelms
hunting ground.
Riding
The popularity of this centre is due to the excellent and highly disciplined school horses which range from Holsteins, Welshcob
to Hanoverians. At Pferdeschulze, there is a horse to suit every type of rider and every equestrian discipline.
The centre caters for novice and experienced alike. Guests can ride undisturbed for miles along perfect, sandy, forest trails or go
hacking along the River Elbe which lies on the old frontier between the East and the West. Cross country enthusiasts can tackle
the obstacles of a specially- constructed course, which with it’s banks, ditches and water hazards provides a true challenge for
beginners as well as more experienced eventers. The centre also boasts large indoor and outdoor arenas for stadium jumping
and dressage enthusiasts.
As well as a varied day to day weekly riding schedule, the Schulze Family also pride themselves on providing a calendar of
imaginative events for children including, night-riding, barbecues and sleep-outs in the hay loft.
Instruction
Pferdeschulze is recognised by the highest equestrian authority in Germany for the excellence and consistency of its training.
The team of instructors is led by Johann-Bernd Schulze, one of North Germanys top instructors. Bernd has tutored some of the
best horsemen/women in the country and regular guests include Mattius Baumann, Klaus Erhorn, the Olympic cross-country rider.
Hackers will benefit from our experienced Trail instructors who know every nook and cranny of the forests and can help make your
holiday an unforgettable experience.
Accommodation
A short walk from the activity of the stables is the guest accommodation, an ambient German country hotel, which is run by
Bernd´s wife, Louise. From it’s beginnings as a basic Bed and Breakfast nearly twenty years ago the hotel has blossomed,
providing excellent family- friendly accommodation with all rooms on en suite.
For guests who prefer to stay even closer to the horses, Hotel "Pferdeschulze" also has three picturesque, self- catering chalets
nestled around the outdoor riding arena. Each provides flexible accommodation for up to four people, with a living area, small
